NI Conservatives’ spokeswoman, Annika Nestius-Brown, has congratulated Northern Ireland’s first UK Scrabble champion, Paul Gallen, who won the National Championships in London yesterday.
“Paul is the first UK champion from Northern Ireland, which is quite an achievement”, Annika said. “Most of us enjoy the odd game of Scrabble and it’s a good way to exercise the grey matter and increase our word power.
“Some of the words which were used in the final were obscure to say the least and maybe our first champion can inspire children from Northern Ireland to take up the game and expand their vocabulary.”
