Conservative Party chairman, Grant Shapps MP, and NI Conservatives’ prospective European election candidate, Mark Brotherston, joined representatives of small businesses to launch ‘Small Business Saturday’ in Northern Ireland, yesterday.

“Small Business Saturday takes place next Saturday, 7th December”, Mark explained.  “It’s about encouraging people to get behind their local small businesses, both on the day and beyond.  The scheme has the backing of the Prime Minister and it is particular dear to the hearts of myself and Grant Shapps, both of whom have personal experience of getting small businesses up and running.”

“In Northern Ireland the majority of our businesses are small to medium sized.  It is the hard-working people behind these companies, high street shops, manufacturers and other services, who are responsible for creating jobs and getting our economy moving.  Everyone needs to make a big effort to get behind small businesses and next Saturday is a perfect time to start.
