NI Conservatives’ co-chair, Trevor Ringland, has extended his sympathies to the family of David McClarty MLA, who has died after an illness.
“David was a real gentleman and a constructive influence on politics at Stormont”, Trevor remarked. “He served his constituents diligently over a long number of years, as a councillor, an MLA and as deputy speaker of the Assembly.”
“David McClarty’s politics were always positive. His death is a sad loss to the political world and to his constituency, but it’s also a tragedy for those closest to him. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time.”
