NI Conservatives’ chairman and North Antrim businessman, Irwin Armstrong, has condemned an arson attack on a South African man’s home in Ballymena.

“This is an appalling crime, which was apparently motivated by racism,” Irwin commented.  “It would be an absolute disgrace if the actions of the few mean that some people in Ballymena don’t feel safe in their homes.”

“Local political representatives have a part to play in this.  The message must go out loud and clear to all hate criminals, whichever bigotry motivates them: you do not commit these acts in our name, your actions bring shame on your community and you should desist immediately.”
