It is time to bring an end to the vexatious legal claims against our servicemen and women. These have been hounding our Veterans, undermining our Armed Forces and hindering our ability to fight wars. We are therefore pledging to overturn this injustice in our 2019 Manifesto.
Northern Ireland Party Spokesperson, Gary Hynds has criticised local parties for their lack of willingness to tackle these issues, arguing that “it is easier for them to hide behind our collapsed institutions than to pursue a solution to these significant challenges. Our solution will protect Veterans from unfair trials where no new evidence has been produced and the accusations have already been exhaustively questioned in court. Our Armed Forces have my greatest admiration as the ones who answer the call to defend our freedom and democracy across the globe. We will not abandon them.”
