Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Chris Heaton-Harris was amongst guests attending a special gathering held by Northern Ireland Conservatives in Belfast on 26th January, 2024

The Inaugural Northern Ireland Conference was held at Clandeboye Lodge and attracted over 200 political and business guests.

Paul Leeman, Chairman of NI Conservatives, said he was encouraged by the success of the event and said the aim of the party is now to broaden the support base.

He said: “We're offering centre-right, non-sectarian politics to the people of the Northern Ireland. We're reaching out to the huge numbers of voters who do not see a viable party to vote for.

We're delighted that three-Cabinet Ministers attended; it shows how serious they take building the party in Northern Ireland."

Veterans minister Johny Mercer MP and Party Chairman Richard Holden MP were amongst speakers. Members left the event delighted with insightful discussions regarding the future of Northern Ireland’s economy and the current state of the Union.

Paul Leeman said he is looking forward to holding more events and is encouraging people to take a closer look at what NI Conservatives have to offer. The party is hoping to stand candidates at the next general election.
