NI Conservatives co-chair, Trevor Ringland, has expressed his condolences with the family of the poet Seamus Heaney.
"It is very sad to hear about the death of Seamus Heaney, whose contribution to cultural life across these islands, and particularly in Northern Ireland, was immense", Trevor commented.
"His poems provided comfort and inspiration to many of us, during some turbulent periods of our history. He was also one of our greatest ambassadors, sharing his gift for language, rooted in the Ulster countryside, with an audience all around the world."
"I want to express our deepest sympathies to his family and all those who were close to him."
